From their attire to their sound, everything just made you believe that you entered a time machine when Via Mardot took the stage at The Loving Touch. All I had to do was close my eyes and it felt like I was somehow transported to a 1960’s something Parisian Café when Jazz was King and Beatniks where living their best life.

Caveman & Bam Bam Detroit

These Paleolithic rockers have been entertaining around the fire for almost 2 million years.

So nothing really fazes them or throws them off no matter what is happening around them, be it falling off the back of the stage or the pedals for your guitar getting unplugged. Bam Bam kept drumming away without missing a single beat.

While there is little chance that they will go extinct anytime soon, you just don’t see that many Cavemen in the modern era so I’d recommend everyone see these Stone Age performers whenever they get the chance.

Overcoats came to the Riviera Theatre in Chicago, IL and opened for Cold War Kids.

I was unfamiliar with their music but I was super excited to see them perform!

Cold War Kids

Here in Chicago, on Valentine's Day most people are with their significant others, but when Lamb of God announced a FREE SHOW at the House of Vans celebrating their new album, you know what it means.

Walking up to the box office window I could see multiple signs posted on the glass "SOLD-OUT"! It's happened at many of the dates on this tour so I was excited to see what all the hype around this young artist was all about.

Three opening acts took the stage before the feature act, and I was glad to have arrived at the venue early. Each performer was massively entertaining in their own right as they worked the crowd and getting them excited for the headliner.

By 9 p.m., the crowd is in a near frenzy chanting in unison "Trippie, Trippie, Trippie".... But they would have to wait, and wait and wait... 9:15... 9:25... 9:35... and still nothing....

The speakers start to crackle with little snippets of your favorite Echosmith songs like "Over my Head" , "Cool Kids" , and everything else.

Anna of the North

Having never heard anything from Anna of the North before, I wasn’t sure what to expect. So hearting he reaction from the crowd when Anna took the stage was great. The audience was filled with true fans that know every song and sang along to every word.

The stage presence of this artist was absolutely amazing! She came directly to the front of the stage to get as close to her fans as possible. She continually runs, jumps and dances from one side of the stage to the next so everyone in attendance can feel like they are part of the show. As she pauses and makes eye contact with those up front you see a glow of excitement in the face of everyone she not only looks at but reaches out too.

When you attend her concert, you are getting a full interactive experience.....

There are a lot of musical duos in the music scene. Aly and Aj, Matt and Kim, Twenty One Pilots are just a few. A newer one to this collection is a group called KOLARS. What makes them unique is the fact that Lauren Brown not only plays the drums but also tap dances on one! While Rob Kolar plays guitar and is a fantastic singer.

Besides being bad ass' at tap dancing and singing, they both also wear beautiful sequined outfits. So matter where you are sitting or standing in a venue, they can both be seen and you won't want to take your eyes off of them!

During "Turn it up", Rob jumped down from the stage and started shredding on his guitar in the photo pit and on top of the barricade! A lot of the fans were getting ready to hold him....

The Glorious Sons and Des Rocs rocked out at the Royal Oak Music Theatre last Saturday in front of a near sold out venue. With this being my first time shooting an indie genre band I wasn't sure quite what to expect. After arriving an hour beforehand and still seeing the venue already half full I knew it was going to be a great night of live music.

Up first was Des Rocs, from New York City. New York. With a 3 piece band they still brought the energy to the venue and definitely pumped up the crowd as if they were headlining the tour! With their catchy songs, mysterious backlit stage lighting, and super energetic stage performance, Des Rocs rocked out Royal Oak Music Theatre and made it a memorable night for all!

With only two bands performing that night, it meant that Kingston, Ontario natives, The Glorious Sons....

The Devil Wears Prada is currently on tour with We Came As Romans as direct support and are crushing it on stage. Everyone who has ever seen or heard of The Devil Wears Prada knows that these guys are amazing performers. Mike Hranica never stops moving. He really gets into his singing and knows how to work every inch of the stage.

As direct support they are played a ten song set which had them playing two new songs for the first time: "The Thread" and "Numb". They opened with "Lines on your hands" and ended with "Danger: Wildman".

We Came As Romans

Ten years ago, six friends decided to get together and make music. Ten years ago these six friends made their first record album called "To Plant a Seed". Fast forward to today and the fans are still playing that same album. The only difference is now, we sadly lost Kyle but his memory will never be forgotten.

This is only the second time We Came As Romans has toured since Kyle Pavone passed away. This tour is different than the last because they are celebrating and playing "To Plant a Seed" for the last time. Before the show started the crowd was chanting "For Kyle!". It was heartwarming and it's nice to see the fans keeping his memory alive. Also before the band took the stage, a video began to play of all of the band members talking about this album and how it all began. At the very end, I could of swore everyone was on the verge of tears, because at the end of the video....

Drive 'N Drag: Chicago

Drive 'N Drag: Chicago was a 3 day, 6 show event that took place August 7th-9th. This event was different from most Drag shows. The reason being the entire crowd was social distancing, but in a parking lot with a stage in front of you and LED Jumbotrons to help everyone see. You might think that people may be detered because of this and Covid but instead it was the exact opposite. The turn out was phenomenal. So many people came out, many in drag. It was truly awesome to see.

As you drive in to the show, you have to get your ticket scanned but not by normal ticket scanners. They had local drag queens from Chicago scanning tickets out front with added to the atmosphere. I loved it ....
